Both decorative and functional, traditional Vintage Japanese festival bag or Kinchaku can also function as a sewing basket.  The upper portion is made of a red Kimono fabric, and is beautifully lined with a small pocket inside, the drawstring closure is a thick braided cord. The base is a dark woven bamboo basket which adds structure to the pouch. You can see the original tags are still in place, coming from vintage new old stock.

This traditional basket has room to hold your stitching tools and notions along with some remnants, threads and a small project.  I have also included some traditional vintage kimono fabrics, and embroidered trims as part of the purchase.  Please check the measurement of the base which gives you an indiction of the size.

Base Measures 13.5cm x 13.5cm. Height approx. 15cm when filled

A few of the trims and textiles have imperfections such as uneven stitching, frayed edges, irregular embroidery or marks from previous use.  These qualities don't affect their usability and often add character to the finished work.

These are materials for makers who value texture, detail and a touch of imperfect.  Use them in slow stitching, textile collage, mending, or any project that welcomes character and depth. Think of these bundles as a starting point - a spark for your own process of discovery.

You receive all items pictured (not including the display props).
