Lantern Bag The Gardener's Hand - is a one of one hand crafted work which is both functional and decorative. The bag is constructed from repurposed denim and lined with vintage Kimono fabric. The appliquéd hand is embroidered with climbing vines, buds and a crucifix of vintage metallic braid. Soft petals surround the bag, which gently sway in the breeze, stitched into select petals are large, faceted red acrylic beads that catch the light, and a tassel at the base which swings with every move.
Each piece I make is a unique work. I include many different textiles in my work which include vintage, recycled or new fabrics. You will see loose threads, visible stitching, frayed edges, stains and marks which are all intentional contributions to the work.
Not suitable for washing.
